After years abroad and countless experiences in hospitality, Australians Alessio Manca and Antonella Tancredi returned to Puglia with a clear intention to build something that felt like home. The result is Burro Cafe, a space shaped by their love of good food, thoughtful design and genuine connection. Their approach is simple. Slow brunch, honest ingredients and a commitment to specialty coffee culture long before it was common in the region. Working closely with Italian specialty roaster Francesca of Santa Domenica, they champion traceability, quality and respect for the people behind each cup. From their signature pane, burro e marmellata to seasonal dishes that balance sweet and savoury, everything is prepared with care. Beyond the food, they host shared dinners that bring strangers together and turn a café visit into a moment of community. Alessio and Antonella have created more than a brunch spot in Ostuni. They’ve built a place that reflects who they are as Australians abroad: warm, open, curious and driven by a desire to bring people together. #GlobalAustralians #AussiesAbroad #AustralianFounders #CreativeEntrepreneurs #HospitalityLeaders #PugliaItaly #Ostuni #BurroCafe #SpecialtyCoffeeCulture #BrunchInItaly
