SPOTLIGHT - Scotty James What an absolute legend five time Olympian Scotty James is. The most decorated Australian Winter Olympian of all time, taking a silver medal in the Snowboard half pipe. He is also one of the most down to earth, honest and funny people around. Scotty always makes time for fans, even mid competition. He sets a fabulous example. Scotty began snowboarding at the age of 3, began competing at 6 and started traveling for competitions at 10. He made his international debut at the 2008 Europa Cup in Switzerland at the ripe old age of 14 and has been traveling ever since. At 15, Scotty made the Australian Olympics team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver making him Australia's youngest male olympian in 50 years. In 2018 he competed at the Pyeongchang olympics, winning bronze, won a silver at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and this week at 31 years old, won a silver medal at the Milano Olympics. Incredible stuff. Although Scotty is a Warrandyte Victoria boy, he resides for most of the year in Monaco which gives him easy access to the halfpipe training grounds in Switzerland. It's one of the sacrifices so many Aussies achieving great things on the world stage have to do and Scotty is another example of a proud Australian who invests a lot into Australian winter sports whilst living most of the year overseas or on the road. Congrats Scotty on the most incredible career and we can't wait to see you at the next Olympics!
