Sydney Leaders Discuss Australia’s Global Competitiveness, Talent and Investment

A great discussion was held in Sydney on Wednesday as Australian leaders came together to explore Australia’s global competitiveness, with a focus on talent, investment and our capacity to deliver.

Hosted in partnership with Mallesons, the Global Australian Leaders Lunch featured key findings from the 2026 Global Australian Report and explored practical ways to better connect Australia with the skills, experience, networks and expertise of Australians around the world.

The discussion highlighted the opportunity to make better use of Australia’s global talent, recognise international experience and create clearer pathways for Australians overseas to contribute to Australia’s future.

Leaders from Macquarie, Blackstone, IBM, Ord Minnett, Mallesons, KPMG, Destination NSW, Venues NSW, the University of Sydney, Bank of Sydney, TimeBridge Partners, Lindsay Francis Mangan & Lee, UNSW, Oxford and Asia Society joined the discussion.

This lunch is part of a series of boardroom discussions bringing together Australian leaders and investors across London, New York, Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney and Paris. These conversations aim to turn global Australian connections into meaningful opportunities for Australia.

A special thank you to our partner, Mallesons, for hosting the discussion and supporting our work to connect talent, investment and opportunity.
